We offer full range of canoeing courses and trips to suit all. We can provide Level 1-4 ICU (Irish Canoe Union) courses and so much more with some of the most experienced Open Canoe instructors in the country.
Level 1: This is generally a day course where you get to grips with the canoe and how to handle it on the flat water. Covering all the basic strokes to get you from A to B.
Level 2:This is a 2 day course and where most people start their canoeing from, Covering all the strokes needed to move the boat on flat water and travel on a trip including some basic white water.
Level3: This is a 2 day course and depending on the group a separate day assessment. This course tidies up all you have learned previously and will refine your strokes and techniques adding in more to your tool box. We will also work on white water skills such as ferry gliding, breaking in and out and using the features of the river too get the most out of the river we can.
Level 4: This is one of the Highest awards in canoeing in Ireland to date. Every stroke, concept and technique is covered in this course using advanced white water to hone all our strokes, we will also use open water to get used to the influence of the wind and other elements on our canoes while travelling. The art or polling, snubbing, lining and tracking will be covered along with everything you need to take your canoeing to the next level. This is a two day training course and a separate assessment day.
